SUMMARY

This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to apply skills they have acquired, related to their areas of interest, in a professional setting.

The intern will assist with the maintenance and support of the IT infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the maintenance and support of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking systems.
• Provide technical support to staff and shareholders, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
• Participate in the implementation of IT projects and initiatives that align with the corporation’s goals.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and document IT processes and procedures.
• Conduct research and analysis to support technological improvements and innovations.
• Help maintain cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive information.
• Assist with the development and delivery of training materials for staff and shareholders on new technologies and systems.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be an Ouzinkie Native Corporation Shareholder, Descendant, or spouse of a shareholder.
• Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, and software applications.
• High School diploma or GED

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• A genuine interest in supporting Alaska Native initiatives and understanding the cultural values of our community.

WORK SCHEDULE 

Yearlong, full-time. The IT Intern will provide general IT support. Benefits are provided with employment of 30 hours per week. Interns who work under 30 hours are ineligible for benefits.  May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

Travel and field visits may be required on an as needed basis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Majority of duties are to be performed in an administrative office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent sitting, using hands, fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with perception and the ability to adjust focus; walking, standing, occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
